Join us for thought-provoking and award-winning classic and contemporary films chosen to present diverse viewpoints from France and the Francophone world. Movies are screened Thursdays at 7:30 pm in the East Gallery in Buell Hall, followed by a moderated discussion in French. Attendance is free for members of the Société des Amis de la Maison Française and for students and faculty from Columbia or one of its affiliates, $7 for non-members. Unless indicated otherwise, films are in French with English subtitles. The Maison Française also sponsors special film events, including premieres, as well as screenings with French film directors that are co-sponsored by the On Set with French Cinema program in the School of the Arts and Unifrance. In 2010, director Cédric Kahn presented his newest film, Les Regrets, and award-winning filmmaker Jean-Pierre Jeunet (director of Amélie) answered questions after a screening of his Micmacs à tire-larigot.
